Description

An antioxidant and mixture of 2-tert-butyl- 4-methoxyphenol and 3-tert-butyl-4-methoxy phenol. It induces phase II detoxifying enzymes that inhibit the action of carcinogens. Dietary BHA is also found inducing intestinal and hepatic MSP23 (peroxiredixin I), a stress inducible antioxidant in a way similar to the induction of glutathione S-transferases.
