Description

A synthetic fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It interferes with enzymes that unwind DNA during the duplication process. Recent interest has been directed to the platinum (II) complex of flumequine as potential antitumor agents. The Ni(II) complexes of this and other quinolones have also been studied for their various biological activities.
